• Next PAC meeting (also AGM) Tuesday 20th May 2008 @ 7pm

  The SPC & PAC at Thomas Haney would like some parent input into the following two questions:

  1. When our children leave Thomas Haney, how do you want them to be different from their time here?

  2. What are your fundamental beliefs about how students learn and how can the school help make that happen?

• MRTA is inviting parents and community members to a forum to discuss the future of public education.  "Let's Talk About Teaching & Learning" is on Monday, April 28, 7-9 pm in the Suddaby Room at Thomas Haney.  Susan Lambert (BCTF vice-pres), Drusilla Wilson (MRTA pres) and George Serra (MRTA 1st vice-pres) will be there to examine:  what's working well in our public education system, what do students need for optimal learning, what should the school board and provincial government do to support public education, how can teachers and the teachers' union support public education in our community?  Call the MRTA office (604 467-2111) for more inf.

• DPAC meeting on May 5th, 2008 at Maple Ridge Secondary School at 7pm

Take a few minutes, please,  to respond to our District Parent Advisory Council (DPAC) parent survey.   Your   input  will  help DPAC better serve the interests of parents in school district 42 as we all advocate for and support students.
